I'm Kara
I am currently pursuing two bachelor’s degrees at the University of North Texas in Denton. One in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations, the other in English with a focus in writing. I also have a minor in international studies with a focus in politics and diplomacy.
I studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic during my spring semester of 2015. It was the best decision I have ever made. This gave me the opportunity to travel all over Europe. Traveling, to me, is so very important. Traveling creates a global awareness and understanding. With this understanding you have the ability to learn about other cultures and see how extremely beautiful the world truly is. The beauty of the world, to me, is held in the fact that there are so many diverse and exquisite cultures to explore.
During my time at the University of North Texas I have maintained a GPA of 3.6 and am scheduled to graduate in December of 2017. Right now I am an intern and account coordinator at MCA public relations in Dallas, Texas. I manage an account for a photography scholarship competition for all DFW high school students. I manage and collaborate with my coworkers on the Retail As Art social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), while also helping out with our other clients. My daily assignments are always changing, from writing media advisories and press releases, to putting stamps on envelopes and putting cookies in bags for events. I am willing and able to do whatever is asked of me. I am very grateful to the MCA team for the risk they took on me and the endless amount of knowledge they share with me everyday.
Passions of mine include travel, photography and writing. I have now traveled to 21 countries. I have been all over Europe and parts of Central and South America and China. I do my best to blog about my experiences as frequently as possible, although it can be hard to take the time to blog while you are traveling (I don't want to miss anything).
I am always taking photos of everything and have shared some of those moments with you on this site.

In February of 2017 I began writing opinion articles for the North Texas Daily. I have loved getting to express my opinion and collaborating with the Editor in Chief and my opinions editor.
All in all I am a driven and hard working young person and I believe that I would make a great addition to any work place.
